About Me

Aloha! I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist and I love what I do.  I have been working in private practice for at least six years and am thrilled to have the opportunity to help individuals and couples have happier, healthier relationships and feel better about themselves.

I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of Hawaii (#279).  I’m located on the North Shore of Oahu and am fortunate to work with the military and local populations addressing their mental health and relationship needs.

Professionally I am interested in learning about everything! I read constantly about research and practices in the field of psychology as they relate to mental health and relationships. I’m especially interested in learning about the neuroscience behind love and relationships as well as the emerging field of mindfulness.  My goal is to pass this knowledge on to you and help you put it to work in your life.

As I grow professionally, reading, educating myself and learning from all of my clients, I have particularly developed my skills to help heal trauma. This has led me to incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a technique that is effective in treating trauma, anxiety and depression.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications (Ithaca College), which I feel gives me a unique understanding of how all kinds of system’s function, whether that is a corporate or government organization or a family.
My Master’s Degree is in Marriage & Family Therapy, which I received from Argosy University in Honolulu. I loved my time at Argosy so much that I later taught there as an Adjunct Faculty Member.  Studying and teaching at Argosy has provided me the tools to work as a therapist as well as specific knowledge to understand how individuals function in relationships.

In addition to being a Marriage & Family Therapist I am a wife and mother.  I’ve lived on the North Shore for more than a decade and I feel blessed to work and raise my family in this community.

Enough about me, I hope to meet you and hear about your life!
